An Open Letter From The Managing Director

Dear OAers,

Thank you for all the love and support you have given us in the last 6 months. Because of you, OA has become one of the fastest growing Asian American publications on the internet. This is evident through our rate of growth not only in site hits, but our following in all major social mediums as well.

I am writing this letter today to update you all on a major change that will be happening with OA. As much as we don’t want this to happen, all parties involved have come into an agreement that it is for the best as individuals, and as a company. Without further adieu, I would like to announce that Julie Zhan will be stepping down as Editorial Director - effective IMMEDIATELY.  Julie has been a key player in building the solid foundation of OA. She is responsible for developing the quality interviews that you all love today. With that being said, the OA team is greatly indebted to her for all the hard work and support she has provide since our conception. However, we cannot deny that her true passion are acting and dancing. This is something that she wants to pursue full-time, and it would be unfair and hypocritical of OA to keep her from doing that. With that being said, we have currently found a temporary substitute as we begin our journey to find another Editorial Director. Julie will ALWAYS be credited as a co-founder as long as our site I active (which is more than well-deserved). 

This may be difficult news to hear for some of you, I can assure you that this was not an easy decision for all of us. But when you have dreams, you have to target it, protect it, and chase it everything you got. So with that being said, we are proud and are in full support of Julie’s decision. We hope that you all continue to give us the same support you have given us and please wish Julie the best in her departure! You can tweet her @dancejujudance to show your support!
