THANK YOU Kollaboration!

The 11th Annual Kollaboration Los Angeles was anything but boring. Throughout the show, the theme of “Empowerment Through Entertainment” was stressed, and it lived true to the theme. The amount of energy that each performer conveyed was infectious; each segment did not fail in getting our blood pumping.
The warming melodies and smooth voices from Ensemble Memo and Dawen made us forget our daily work and school stresses. The second the opening act told us they would perform a song to take our minds off school, I was sold. Emanon Dance Crew, Lions Ambition, afterschoolspecial also lit up the stage with amplified music and dancing; Hands were raised, and balloons were tossed. Inch Chua, Monsters Calling Home, Andrew Figueroa Chiang and the Blazing Rays of the Sun all won us over with pretty voices and instruments, and staggering stage presence. When the vocalists of Monsters Calling Home stomped around on stage banging their tambourines, I felt inclined to do the same (except I had no tambourine, and no one around me was standing!).
Aside from the competitors, it was also nice to see Clara C, Paul (PK) Kim, and  G.NA. They gave us soul, laughter, and charm.
Last but not least, Noel Kunz showed the audience an unconventional form of entertainmentent with entrancingly rythmic yo-yoing, invoking many Ooh’s and Aah’s. Congratulations on your win!
