Giving Up a Lunch For Lenana

Support our pals from @thesupply ’s quest to build the first secondary school in Lenana by donating or giving up lunch for the week.  Our founders @bennyluo is donating and @mellylee_ is fasting.

Eddo Kim, the founder of The Supply, is so inspired by the action that young people at 26 high schools and colleges are taking in the Lunch for Lenana campaign to give up their lunches to raise funds for Lenana, that he will be foregoing an entire week’s worth of food and donating that money to the campaign. That’s right, 120 hours without food.

John, VP of Operations will also be going 120 hours without food. Shawn, VP of Movement will be foregoing en entire day’s worth of meals. All three of The Supply staff will be pledging for the campaign week. *check out their videos posted on this wall. 

For individuals that want to get involved, we are challenging any willing person to join us in pledging to forego a lunch, lunches all week, all their meals, ect and donating that money to our Lunch for Lenana Campaign. We are asking you to join this page, upload a video to share your experience and to inspire others! 

We will forego lunch so that slum children don’t have to make a choice between paying for lunch or paying for school fees

Background:
When The Supply first arrived in Lenana in the summer of 2010, we encountered two orphan boys, Peter and John. While others left for their homes to eat lunch, they sat in the classrooms. Because they were fending for themselves, they had to make a real decision each day: eat lunch or save the money to pay for school fees. During Nov. 14-18, these boys will be taking the KCPE National Examination to earn the right to advance to secondary school. As many of you know, The Supply is working to construct the first ever secondary school in Lenana. This worldwide campaign is a remembrance of the boys and the children of Lenana as we give up something so small, so that they may continue to achieve something great.
